About Horizon Fund

The Horizon Fund is all about looking after the place we call home. In partnership with Focus Foundation, we’re helping to fund local projects that bring people together, protect our coastline, and make Brighton a brighter, fairer city for everyone. The fund is designed so your donations go further. We don’t focus on just one charity, instead, by bringing together donations from our employees, suppliers, and customers, we can reach a wider range of local causes and make an even bigger difference.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have raised:

£26,074 since launched in November 2025

£6,058, with match funding increasing the total to £11,132, to support suicide prevention work during the first half of 2026.
The funding enabled us to support a life-saving project delivered by Grassroot Suicide Prevention. Grassroots Suicide Prevention | Educating, Connecting, Campaigning. Working across Sussex schools, the programme equips students and school staff to recognise the signs of suicide distress and respond effectively.
The project will benefit 1,200 people, reaching hundreds of young people, particularly those most at risk.

A calm, restorative space where children with additional needs can find peace.

Love Local Jobs Foundation – Dare to Dream
A programme empowering young people to rethink how they see themselves, their future and their place in the world.

Grassroots Suicide Prevention – Breaking the Silence
Life-saving training that helps school staff and students recognise the signs of suicide distress.

More than 2,000 people, 23 charities and 19 PTAs and schools, have benefited from these projects.

Charity of the Year (H2) - Food Poverty

Food poverty has become a persistent issue across Sussex, with thousands of residents depending on emergency food support simply to meet their basic needs.

More than 5,800 people in Brighton & Hove received food support every week during 2025, with around 2,900 requiring ongoing long-term support.

Children are disproportionately affected by food poverty.

Food insecurity is having a significant impact on children, affecting health, wellbeing, educational outcomes and future opportunities

The House of Commons Library reports that 18% of children lived in food-insecure households in 2023/24

Charities and community food providers across Sussex are facing growing demand while simultaneously coping with falling donations and rising operating costs.

Food projects in Brighton & Hove spent around £15,800 per week topping up food stocks due to declining surplus food supplies and donations. [brighton-hove.gov.uk]

Nearly half of emergency food providers reported they did not have enough funding secured for the year ahead. [brighton-hove.gov.uk]
