A feat of architecture and engineering
It’s an inside-out observation tower, a vertical pier, a glass doughnut on a stick and one of Brighton’s iconic must-visit attractions.
It’s an inside-out observation tower, a vertical pier, a glass doughnut on a stick and one of Brighton’s iconic must-visit attractions.
Viewed from the outside, the i360 is all of these things and more. It’s visionary, daring, ingenious, spectacular, eccentric, exuberant and tall – very tall. But experienced from the inside, it is simply a joy.
The design of the i360 is ingeniously different. Its doughnut-shaped glass pod acts as both a lift and a viewing platform, carrying you up and down the tower while providing unobstructed panoramic views from start to finish.
The spacious glass viewing pod allows you to walk around and enjoy the views of the quirky city of Brighton, beautiful rolling South Downs National Park, the UNESCO Biosphere and, on the clearest days, all the way along the coast to the Isle of Wight.
The i360 pod is also home to the South Coast’s Highest Bar, The Nyetimber Sky Bar. Where else can you sip a cocktail at 450ft high in the sky?
Admire breathtaking views, whilst enjoying a glass of award-winning finest English Sparkling Wine from local producer, Nyetimber. Or try a local’s favourite, the Lemon Verbena Garden Collins by Brighton Gin, a gin distilled in Brighton for the perfect summer taste, whatever the weather!
The Nyetimber Sky Bar also has a great selection of non-alcoholic fruit juices and drinks by Folkington’s, a local Sussex company. In fact, nearly everything served at the Nyetimber Sky Bar is from local suppliers, so you can savour every sip safe in the knowledge that you’re supporting local!
Did you know the Brighton i360 is 41 times taller than it is wide? If you’d like to learn more about the unique design and construction of Brighton i360, visit the ‘How it was Built’ exhibition after your flight.
Once you’ve disembarked the pod, head to the gift shop – it’s far from your average visitor attraction shop! The Brighton i360 team, working with local artists and suppliers has curated a range of stylish and unique items that celebrate the city and spirit of Brighton.
Go on to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat with spectacular sea views at the i360 Café, housed in the replica Toll Booth on the upper level! The Café’s sheltered terrace offers sweeping views across Brighton beach and the sea – the perfect suntrap and a local’s favourite.
Skate 360, Brighton’s only open-air roller rink onsite at Brighton i360! Located on the Upper Deck at street level, the rink overlooks Brighton beach and the iconic West Pier structure. So get your skates on, or hire some of ours, and wheel on down to the seafront to enjoy skating, music and more.
